Jeff Tarlton - Dragon Spring

In the late 80s, Jeff Tarlton fronted a fantastic psych/punk band called Viv Akauldren & on this second solo album, released on Delerium records in 2000, he sounds even more like a cosmic Gram Parsons. With a host of friends he's created a beautifully haunting stripped down acid folk album, mapping the borderland between gritty urban sprawl and dank mysterious wilderness. Anyone who loved the intensity of Nick Drake, Kevin Coyne or Robyn Hitchcock will find plenty to enjoy. ''In twenty years this album will be worshipped !''

Talisman - Dole Age

Originally formed in 1977 as Revelation Rockers, a name they soon changed, by the early 1980s, Talisman were consummate performers not only vying with Black Roots for the title of Bristol's number one reggae act, but also one of the country's most popular live bands. They toured the UK with Steel Pulse, The Clash, Black Roots and Misty In Roots building up a loyal following and leaving memories of gigs that are still discussed to this day.
Despite their undisputed talent a major record deal never materialised and until now the only way to hear Talisman has been to track down their two difficult to find singles from 1981, or their two later LPs, "Takin' The Strain" from 1984 and "Jam Rock" From 1990. Now after nearly thirty years Bristol Archive Records have lovingly compiled a CD of the band at their peak in 1981. Not only does the CD contain the band's two original 7" singles, but also seven carefully selected live cuts from classic shows at Glastonbury and Bath University.

Being a reggae release vinyl hasn't been forgotten. The limited edition LP is effectively a completely different release featuring the full extended 12" mixes of both singles in their entirety as well as the previously unreleased "Nitty Gritty".

Alan Moore, David J, and Tim Perkins - The birth caul (A shamanism of childhood)

The trio's second performance took place at an Old County Court in Newcastle, on November 18, 1995 & was released on Charrm, the label run by :zoviet*france:
This lengthy autobiographical poem of working-class life is compelling and often breathtaking, accompanied by especially haunting soundscapes from David J. and Tim Perkins. Moore doesn't just read these compositions; he performs them, his text treats the caul as a map of humanity. With it, he examines the connections between language, identity and our perceptions of the world, regressing from early adulthood through adolescence, childhood and infancy to prenatal existence, in a quest for a primitive consciousness existing before language.

Green Milk From The Planet Orange - He's Crying Look

Japanese space-noise rock trio Green Milk From The Planet Orange broke up some years ago, He's Crying Look was originally released on Beta-lactam Ring in 2004 and combines frenzied garage punk with post-prog freak outs. While loosely played, it is steady & deliberate, with an eastern flavouring that reminds me a lot of early Kraut Rock with their extended excursions toward psychedelic improv. Enjoy!!

Waxed Apple - Six Song EP (Re-up)

Although from the West Country originally, the band actually met a few years back whilst working in a recording studio in Brighton. First gigs came via the local electronic music collective Spirit of Gravity, whose founding members include Spazz junglists Shitmat and Same Actor. The basis of early live shows was experimentation and improvisation, which has evolved into a powerful bass heavy groove. A groove that is now cut together with organic and electronic sounds, utilising eclectic samples, live drums, tin whistle, strummed and bowed violin, while Caleb’s shouting into a megaphone.
