Marineville released their debut 'Marineville' EP & follow up long player 'Redpath House' on Zion Train's Universal Egg label and played with them as part of The Universal Egg Experience European Tour in 1997. They specialised in Drum and Space, saturated with Intergalactic jazz sliding into glitch excursions and ambient textures. Regular live outings during the late 90s playing house parties, free festivals and shindigs out in the woods of Northumberland had a massive impact on shaping the distinctive sound of 'Subaquatic Jazzweed'(eight live tracks and two studio recordings) released in 2003 .

Mark Spybey & Jean-Yves Thériault - :spybey:theriault:

Mark Spybey (Dead Voices On Air) and Jean-Yves Theriault (Voivod) released this limited edition collaborative project through Canadian Ichor Recordings. The CD came in a neutral beige burlap sleeve, with a small tag carrying the number of the release and the artist/title: :spybey:theriault: Containing more than 70 minutes of music, the album moves on the spectrum from noise to ambient experimental that Spybey has become well known for, conjuring up vivid progressions of images on a movie screen of the listener's mind.

Delayer saw the return of Andy Eardley ( :zoviet*france:, Horizon 222, Ingleton Falls & Reformed Faction) with an album based on sounds from the mouth. Six of the seven tracks on this release were originally recorded for use by :zoviet -france: but none of these versions had ever appeared before.

Four band compilation from the short-lived New York illbient scene, a wonderfully murky wickedness which quickly faded as soon as the name congealed. Nik Turners Sphynx - Xitintoday (nikt records) 1997

Nik Turners first solo album after being thrown out of Hawkwind, released in 1978 by Charisma Records. Based around a bunch of flute tracks he recorded inside the Great Pyramid in Giza(1977) which he then took to Wales and got various musicians to add their freak outs in a recording studio. Sphynx included several Gong members, Steve Hillage, Miquette Giraudy, Tim Blake, Didier Malherbe, Mike Howlett, ex-Hawkwind drummer Alan Powell, Morris Pert, Harry Williamson and George Kazazian. All the narrations and singing are inspired by the Egyptian Book of the Dead. This edition was released on turners own label in 1997 and has two extra untitled tracks.

KAVA KAVA - Dither EP

KAVA KAVA are based in Huddersfield, originally starting out as a 4 piece live psychedelic funk outfit under the influence of George Clinton & heavily involved in the uk underground / free festival scene, it comes as no surprise that their debut Dither EP was released by Chocolate Fireguard, in 1993. The band expanded into a six piece and released their seminal ‘Maui’ album also on Chocolate Fireguard & are still very much active now.

Sons of Selina - Terminus EP

Sons of Selina were a welsh psychedelic-punk band formed in Colwyn Bay in 1990, They released two albums ''Nour d'Oui'' CD / LP(1994)'' "Fire in The Hole" CD / LP (1999) and many singles/EPs/cassettes. They describe their music as guiness, triple bad acid, shrooms and chrome plated tow-bars. The Terminus EP was released by Delerium in 1996.

ZEB - 3 Song EP

Zeb formed in 1995 and became central to the 90s Liverpool underground, also playing extensively around the UK, and ventured into Europe for a couple of mini-tours. This debut ep captures their frenzied festie klezmer dub perfectly and was recorded at their own studio, Digital Routes, in L’pool city centre. Zeb folded in 2000, with ex members going on to form The Hat Band.

Reefus Moons - Waiting for my Albatross

Reefus Moons has been released beautifully crafted psychedelic pop since the early 90s, releasing several albums on Acid Tapes, Delerium and his own Insect Eye Records. Comparisons with Syd Barett & Robyn Hitchcock are invertible i guess, although Reefus has written some sparkling idiosyncratic acid pop songs for this album & is a master at taking the familiar and making it resound with a sense of the surreal. Waiting for my Albatross is apparently a soundtrack for a film of the same name.

K.U.K.L - The Eye

Debut album released by crass records in 1984.
''With its scattered guitar squalls, blood-boiling squeals, and scattershot rhythms, this record may strike casual Sugarcubes/Björk purveyors as practically impenetrable. Indeed, although assembled as a sort of Icelandic indie supergroup, Kukl never made music that could be deemed in any way accessible; on first listen, The Eye is a patently draining affair seemingly devoid of any coherent structure. Repeated spins, however, unearth a highly sophisticated aesthetic that borrows evenly from punk, noisecore, avant garde, and good old-fashioned indie. Although highly discordant and often atonal, it's a curiously engaging record, aided in part by Björk's darkly emotive vocals ''
